ADMISSION OF UPM STUDENTS RETURN TO CAMPUS IN PHASES

SERDANG, Dec 12 - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has been fully opened for the admission of staged students through the Institute of Higher Education Rehabilitation Plan (PEMULIH IPT). This plan is a plan that has been agreed in the Special Session of the National Security Council (NSC) from 15 September 2021 in the opening of IPT for physical admission of students for the Academic Session 2021/2022 in all Phases of the National Rehabilitation Plan (PPN) starting October 2021.

UPM stressed that only students who have completed the COVID-19 immunization dose are allowed to enter the campus or residential college. To date, a total of 11,046 students have been at the Serdang Campus and Bintulu Campus to undergo online and hybrid lectures.

Encik Mohamed Shukri Mohamed Noor, Head of Housing and Settlement Division (BPP UPM) led the BPP team in student admission starting 15 October 2021 in preparing permission letters and also making announcements on this matter among students. In addition, it processed a total of 998 applications of students with off -campus status for placement.

“We do our best to help students with off -campus status to get accommodation at residential colleges in order to look after the welfare of students. However, the award of placement is dependent on the vacancy in the residential college. Alhamdulillah, so far a total of 884 have managed to get accommodation ”he said.

To prevent the risk of COVID-19 pandemic spread in the campus of Universiti Putra Malaysia, the management of UPM residential colleges has decided that all processes and procedures related to admission and registration of old and new students must be carried out in full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). and prioritize safety measures.
