SERDANG, 23 Dec - The Flood Victims Relief Volunteer Mission under the PUTRA Cakna initiative has been launched to provide assistance to victims affected by the recent flood disaster. UPM has sent a total of 200 PUTRA Cakna volunteers to flood locations around Puchong, Subang, Petaling and Sg. Buloh.

UPM Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan Sulaiman said the PUTRA Cakna initiative had created a Flood Relief Operations Room (BOBB) at the Chancellor's College, UPM to coordinate all aid initiatives and also the provision of volunteers. PUTRA Cakna is in line with the aspirations of UPM's Strategic Plan 2021-2025, which is to produce the character of Resilient Graduates to Face Future Challenges and also to Preserve the Industry and Community Network Ecosystem.

Minister of Higher Education (MOHE), Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad is also involved in this mission and hopes that this volunteer mission can be emulated by all parties, especially in evoking the spirit of volunteerism in students in particular.

UPM welcomes contributions from all parties, especially from UPM citizens and can contact the UPM BOBB Secretariat, Prof. Prof. Dr. Amini Amir Abdullah or En. Khairul Jusoh@Yusof at 03-97697505 to channel assistance.
