Kolej Dua Belas is one of the 17 residential colleges at Universiti Putra Malaysia. However, Kolej Dua Belas is part of Kolej Serumpun due to its unique location among three other colleges, namely Kolej Empat Belas, Kolej Lima Belas, and Kolej Enam Belas.
Kolej Dua Belas, Universiti Putra Malaysia was opened in May 2000, together with the opening of Kolej Empat Belas. Initially, this residential college was opened exclusively to female students. Later, accommodation was extended to male students. The placement and maintenance of facilities for Kolej Serumpun were fully under the responsibility of PJS Development Sdn. Bhd.
On 1 February 2018, Kolej Dua Belas was merged with Kolej Lima Belas, and the designated name of the college remained Kolej Dua Belas. On 1 September 2019 for the 2019/2020 academic session, Kolej Dua Belas fully took over the management of student accommodation from PJS Development Sdn. Bhd.
